Hi everyone.
I am studding the grey mater volumes in the brain of meditators. I have a group of 33 T1 brain images of meditators that I want to compare with a control group (non-meditators) matched for sex, age, education and handedness. My questions are:
1. Due to I do not have T1 images of my own control group, it is not easy for me to have a control group, what do you think about using external T1 datasets for VBM like: http://www.loni.ucla.edu/ICBM/Databases/, or http://www.brain-development.org/.
Should I have any special considerations with these datasets?
2. Could affect the VBM’s results to mix different T1 acquisition with different parameters like: Repetition Time, Echo Time, Number of Phase Encoding Steps, Echo Train Length, Reconstruction Diameter, Acquisition Matrix, Flip Angle
3. Do you know any other good quality T1 dataset that I may use on my research?
4. Any related advise is also very much welcome
Thanks very much for your time and your help.
Best wishes.
