The core focus of this free online resource is to raise awareness among
service providers of what it is like to be blind, partially sighted,
deaf or hard of hearing and using everyday services such as libraries,
colleges and banks.

SEP, has been funded by the EU's INTERREG IVA Programme, managed by the
Special EU Programmes Body. (SEUPB) and has worked in key cross border
areas in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

The launch of the online Digital Training toolkit represents the
culmination of three years of work from an innovative cross border
partnership between the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB
NI), Action on Hearing Loss, National Council for the Blind of Ireland
(NCBI) and DeafHear, four of the largest organisations which provide
support and advocacy services for people with sight and hearing loss
across the island of Ireland.

The toolkit

Blind, partially sighted, hard of hearing and deaf participants were
directly involved in the creation of the toolkit. This online training
resource comprises a series of short films focusing on the participant's
personal experiences and helpful information from all four charities
involved. It includes information about visiting the library, the bank
and going to college.

The online Training Toolkit is available at www.sensoryengagement.com
