Dear MCGers,
each year we make space for new voices and the latest news in MCG's
Museums on the Web programme with our 'open mic' lightning talks
session. We'll be opening the call for papers soon, but since slots
usually go like lightning (sorry!), I thought I'd give you a heads up
so that those who haven't been before have a chance to figure out what
it's all about and think about applying for one of the five lightning
talk slots. These informal, five minute talks are an opportunity to
tell us about a project you are working on, make suggestions for
projects or ask for help with something. (They should not simply be
used as an ad break). If you're interested, keep an eye on the list
for the call for proposals soon.
UK Museums on the Web (UKMW13) will be held at Tate Modern on November
15, with the theme 'Power to the people'. Don't miss out! Book your
ticket at http://ukmw13.eventbrite.co.uk/ The full timetable is at
http://bitly.com/ukmw13_home
While I'm here, we've recently opened the call for nominations for MCG
Secretary and for an ordinary Committee vacancy - if you've got any
questions about the responsibilities or requirements for either role,
please feel free to drop me a line with any questions.
Cheers, Mia
