Hi all
University of Reading have recently embarked on an overseas campus in Malaysia. The Library service out there is being organised over the next few years and I've been asked by my manager to write a short paper on inter-library loans and what things may need to be considered when providing that service to staff and students at an overseas campus.
If anyone else has already looked into this I'd be really happy to hear your experiences / thoughts, especially (but not exclusively) if your overseas campus is in Malaysia.
Any thoughts or ideas would be helpful, but if you are able answers to some or all of the following would be really useful;
1. Does your overseas campus have it's own library service?
2. How is the ILL service managed?
3. What copyright implications were there (eg library privilege rules in other countries?!)
4. What has the experience been like with interlending in the country where your overseas campus is based?
Please reply to me on [log in to unmask] and if you are happy for me to do so, I will compile any responses and send a summary to the list.
Many thanks,
Natalie
