I understood it to be main Google too as the message mentions the fact
that Google Scholar is already doing this.
It's interesting to hear everyone's views on this matter.

If you are correct, that could be a very important development.

Hi All,
From the message sent out, I understood it to be standard Google but I
could easily be wrong there!

Do you know whether this opportunity will apply to Google's main Search
product, to Scholar, or to other products?

Subject: [lis-e-resources] ScienceDirect and Google
Hi all,
Last week, I received an e-mail informing me that our ScienceDirect
holdings will soon be searchable via Google unless I opt out. Part of
thinks this is quite a helpful feature. However, the part of me that has
spent over a decade telling people not to use Google to find academic
information wants to say "not a chance" to Elsevier.
Does anyone else have any strong opinions on this? Has anyone opted out
and if now, are you promoting this new feature?
Many thanks.
Best wishes,
Sarah
