-Senior GIS Consultant. Full time permanent position
The successful individual will contribute to the growth and development of SLR’s GIS capabilities and business both as an internal service as well as an external consulting discipline offered by the company. This individual will be expected to have formal GIS qualifications and experience of delivering GIS services with an environmental consultancy. They must also be pro-active in developing staff and promoting the use of GIS both internally and to clients.
Specific duties and responsibilities will include:
- Delivering the GIS analysis, map production and data management required on projects
- Manage delivery of GIS outputs for large multi-disciplinary projects
- Responsibility for managing the existing GIS team (3-4 personnel);
-Identify opportunities to develop the team and capability as the business requires;
-Working closely with other technical disciplines who have GIS trained staff;
-Development of quality assurance systems for the delivery of GIS output;
-Management of licenses and acquire new software and licences as required by the business;
-Assisting in promoting and sharing of GIS systems with SLR’s international offices (US, Canada, Australia, South Africa)
-Developing new opportunities by contributing to proposals and business development in general;
- Contribute towards the development of GIS infrastructure within the company
-GIS Consultant, 6 Month Fixed Term Contract
As a GIS Consultant you will provide drawing support and analysis to several technical disciplines including Ecology, Landscape Architecture, Hydrology, Archaeology and Land Quality. The main area of your work will be wind farm planning applications so experience in this area would be beneficial
