Digital Archivist: Black Dance Archives (BDA) Project
State of Emergency Productions, a national arts production company, has received a a second stage grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) to create the first ever fully accessible archive of Black Dance. Over the course of 2.5years, the project will collect up to 29 archives from celebrated individuals and organisations operating from 1960s through to 2000s.
We are looking for a Digital Archivist to undertake cataloguing and digital preservation activity in relation to the donations, as well carry out digitisation activity that may be required as part of the BDA Project. You will work closely with the project delivery team and particularly, the BDA Cataloguing Archivist. The post-holder will actively liaise with donors and partners regarding the promotion and use of the archive. Other duties will include participation and contribution to a vibrant participation programme to include events, exhibitions, and outreach activities.
The post holder will be based at National Resource Centre for Dance in Surrey until July 2014, and then at Black Cultural Archives in London; until the end of the project in March 2016.
Candidates should be able to start asap for a contract period to March 2016.
Salary £26,000 fte.
