UVA HIRING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN COMPARATIVE CULTURES
The College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences at the University of Virginia invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position, which is supported by the Andrew W Mellon Foundation. The focus of this hire will be in the area of comparative cultures and contested cultural space in the late-Byzantine world, 11th-15th centuries CE. The geo-cultural terrain of this hire will span the Orthodox Christian world and the Islamic East, from the Balkans to the Urals, from the Black Sea to the Caspian Sea basin.
