Dear all

Please find details of a conference attached that might be of interest, sent from Jane McLenachan at DMU.
Can I take this opportunity to inform you that Lynn Romeo has cancelled her visit to Leicester next week, she apologises and will aim to come to the next meeting.
I do hope you can all still attend, thanks to those who have let me know they cannot come. Revised agenda attached.

Best wishes

Juliet

Hi Juliet
I thought colleagues in the regional network may be interested in this conference – could you please circulate to them?

Many thanks
Jane

Dear Colleague

We would like to invite you to the inaugural Interdisciplinary Domestic Violence Conference (IDVC) to be held here at De Montfort University on Monday, 16th December 2013. This conference is intended to explore of the challenges to achieving prevention and protection of domestic violence victims in the legal arena. It will provide a forum to bring together community professionals, legal practitioners and academics in order to develop a cooperative network to improve communication links between these stakeholders. This conference is suitable for academics, students, community professionals both statutory and not-for profit sector and the legal sector, both enforcement, practitioner and judiciary.

This event will be an exploration of the extent greater “cooperation and coordination” remains hampered by different discipline expectations and priorities and whether professionals remain on different “planets” (Hester 2005) in their approach to the issue of domestic violence and victim safety; issues of perpetrator accountability, victim dis-engagement and compromises to safety.
