Friends and colleagues,

I'm delighted to report that we are receiving a healthy flow of proposals for papers and panels for the 2014 BAFTSS Conference. As you know, we are the guests of Birkbeck College, London from 24-26th April. Our 2nd Call for Papers has been issued, and we have extended the deadline date for this to the 31ST OCTOBER 2014.

Things are shaping up extremely well, and if you would like to submit a proposal you are encouraged to do so. The details are as follows:

There will also be a special screening of the digitally re-mastered Riddles of the Sphinx (Mulvey and Wollen, 1977), a screening of one Richard Dyer’s favourite films 'Pakeezah' (Amrohi, 1972) two keynote talks (one by the Award recipient, one by a filmmaker tba), the BAFTSS Awards Ceremony, a Professional Panel discussion of the discipline and the effect of Impact and, pre-conference, a Postgraduate/Early Career development session.
