We're pleased to announce the launch of 'Channel 4 Press Packs 1982-2002', an online research resource making available the weekly Press Information Packs (PIPs) published by the broadcaster over its first two decades. Documenting in immense detail the content and scheduling of Channel 4’s programming, the PIPs provide an insight into how the broadcaster operated in its formative years. With fully searchable online access to digital reproductions of the PIPs, this database will be an invaluable tool for anyone interested in the history of British television and film.
The resource is an outcome of 'Channel 4 and British Film Culture' (www.c4film.co.uk), a four year AHRC funded project run by the University of Portsmouth in partnership with the British Universities Film and Video Council.
