University of Cambridge – Department of Clinical Neurosciences (Neurology Unit)
Epidemiologist/Statistician
We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented individual to join one of the leading stroke research groups in the UK. This post, funded by a British Heart Foundation 2 year project grant would suit a researcher embarking on a career as an epidemiologist/statistician. You will work on data and statistical analysis of a number of large epidemiological and clinical trial datasets looking at the pathogenesis and treatment of stroke. You will have experience in analysis of large medical datasets, although experience of stroke itself is not essential. The post offers an excellent opportunity to work on pre-existing datasets and publish first author publications. The Stroke Research Group is part of Clinical Neurosciences which was top rated in the last RAE. It is anticipated there will be strong links with the Department of Public Health and Primary Care at Cambridge, as well as with the Department of Public Health at King's College London, with whom we have longstanding links, allowing close interaction and career development with internationally renowned epidemiological research groups.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
