Congratulations on the new job. And welcome to Hampshire - a great place to live!
Start with the guide on using Xerte to support dyslexic students http://www.jisctechdis.ac.uk/techdis/resources/detail/Xerte_dyslexia (NB - screenshots based on old Flash version but HTML5 is even better - eg use with Google Chrome and ChromeSpeak plugin for TTS, or HighContrast plugin for colour switching - or use the browser colour options).
Have a look at something I've just done for supporting learners on fieldwork - not dyslexia specific but a great way of having a mobile friendly resource that helps people with short term memory issues and organisation problems complete tasks well and record them accurately. http://vle.jisctechdis.ac.uk/xerte/play_467

Subject: Xerte objects that help staff support students with dyslexia
Hi all,
Back on here after a change in institution and ready to fly the flag for Xerte Tookits!
I have a meeting with our Student Services Manager this afternoon - he is looking for Learning Technologies to create a digital resource to help support staff support students with dyslexia. I immediately thought of Xerte and would like to show him an example - is anything out there that would be relevant?
cheers
