Library & Student Services (LSS) wishes to recruit an Archive Cataloguer to support the Archivist & Special Collections Officer by cataloguing the collection of the Oscar-winning British animator Bob Godfrey (1921-2013). You will provide high quality cataloguing records using the Library's CALM cataloguing system of control and retrieval and assist the Archivist as necessary with enquiries and user-focus support for the Animation Archive. This is an exciting opportunity to become involved in the establishment and implementation of these collections for use by UCA's learning, teaching and research communities, and externally.
Working closely with LSS colleagues and the wider University community, you will be responsible for establishing specialist collection policies and making the collections accessible through a programme of archival-standard cataloguing. You will liaise with a wide variety of stakeholders in order to promote the existing collections, as well as exploring the potential for further donation.
You will have a postgraduate qualification in archives and record management, and the necessary experience to manage archives and rare book material, including a specialist knowledge of conservation issues, archival standards and compliance issues.
You must be self-motivated with excellent communication skills, especially regarding promotional activities.
Working hours (part time or full time) is open to negotiation
