Both use third party services; both can therefore move, disappear, stop working, start working again all beyond our control, however, Tom Reijnders runs the latex server we use, and the MathJax service seems pretty reliable.
In v2.0 of Xerte Online Toolkits, you can use the ` [from the key on the top left of your keyboard] characters as delimiters for latex: Mathjax will then display it.

Hi
I dropped a query a while ago but think everyone was on their holiday as I did not get a response so hope some-one can help me with my outstanding query??
I have created a number of GCSE/A level Maths activities which incorporate LATex (yes took a while to get my head-around it)and very recently had an issue with the rendering of the symbols resulting in blank spaces where the expressions/equations should be. This was due to a glitch in the Latex web server (did not realise there was one) which did not render the code. Its now working OK.
My query is; If Latex is linked with a server then can it be effect 'off line' also am concerned that it could happen again. It has been suggested that MathsJax is a good alternative for rendering. Has anyone used it with Xerte? I have had a quick play but have not as yet been successful - but I may well be missing the obvious!
Cheers
Barbara

This isn't something you could do without being a coder (and that's a skill I don't possess!).
If you want to do something with hotspot image interactivity that is more flexible than the basic image hotspot page you might want to explore the Connector > Image hotspot page. That allows you to trigger either text boxes or audio or video from hotspots.

Subject: Creating Hotspot image within a Tabbed Navigator page
Hello!
I'm not sure if this is right place to ask for this type of assistance.
I am creating a learning object that would facilitate some hotspot image interactivity.
I would like to find out whether there is a way to insert a hotspot image within an already created page of a tabbed navigator; or does Xerte only allow to create this as a separate new page?
Ideally, I would like to create this from within a page so that it follows on from an already built menu structure.
If there are some specific resources on the topic, would you be able to direct me please?
Many thanks
Joe
