All,
Thanks for the replies. In summary, there seems to be a
range of opinion on whether it is useful or not, and many
variations (and problems) on the theme of supplying a pre-built
UI have been suggested.
I'll add this - there is no technical distinction between the
solutions. In one case, an admin hired by GridPP makes and
manages the UI, and in the other case, an admin hired by
someone else does it. The issue of "who hires the admin" is not
a technical one, so I'll pass on that. It's very important, but it's
not a problem I can solve.
Anyway, I'll have a chat with Chris (who requested this document)
and see where we end up after that. I think he's off at present.
