When a colleague and I were researching the potential for a cross-disciplinary
linguistics & sociology degree programme at Essex University (now live:
http://goo.gl/0DM3N8), I similarly needed to know which universities offered
comparable degrees and related modules. Google is very much your friend here. You can
filter your searches to include only results from British universities (or websites
ending in 'ac.uk'). You do this using the 'site:' function before your search:
site:ac.uk your search query
The 'site' function simply tells Google to include only those results from website
that end in 'ac.uk'.
I just ran the following search:
site:ac.uk "child labour" degree
There don't seem to be any entire degrees focusing on child labour, so I then
searched for:
site:ac.uk "child labour" module
This second set of results is more interesting, with quite a bit of varied coverage
around different UK universities.
Another benefit of this approach is that Google scrapes around inside web pages, so
you'll find modules/degrees with different names but which still cover child labour.
Of course you can use the same Google function for other bits of the internet,
including specific websites, e.g. site:southampton.ac.uk' or 'site:wikipedia.org'.
Best of luck with it all!
Dave
