Hi all,
I work with schools. I have become aware that, as is to be expected in these modern times, most schools no longer keep a paper/hard copy book admissions register as all the details about admissions are captured on their Schools Information Management System (SIMS).
My predecessor began discussions with our education department and our archives about how some sort of electronic equivalent could be captured and accessioned into the archives. They were looking at potentially either capturing the school census once a year or creating a bespoke report to be run annually from our internal education management system.
Do any of you have any experience of working with schools on this sort of issue - if yes, what did you do? If not, what are your thoughts on this issue?
Your replies on or off list would be most gratefully received.
Many thanks,
Lizi
