POETRY KIT SUMMER POETRY COMPETITION 2013
Our competition this year is for poems on the theme of "stories" (this can be broadly interpreted).
There are no style or length restrictions
but it should be stressed that a short poem is just as likely to be selected as a longer one.
Competition Judge; Jim Bennett
1st prize is £100.
All shortlisted poems will be published as a "Poem of the Week" on the PK Blog and the top five will
be invited to be part of our CITN Featured Poet series.

and all entries must be received before midnight 30th September 2013
Entries received after this time will be discarded.
First prize is £100 and the winning poem plus those selected for special commendation will be published at the
Poetry Kit website.

Mentoring - Guided Study and Masterclass
Next start date Start at any time when space is available
Duration – 15 units The Course – Guided study and poetry masterclass. Ideas are discussed and foundations for poems developed with assistance and developing critique in working through drafts to completed poems. This is a mentoring experience and will work with strengths and identify weaknesses all content will be chosen to meet the needs of the student. The mentoring is over a period of 15 sessions, at the end of that you should have portfolio of 8 to 10 poems which are complete a further 5 to 7 which are being worked through. The purpose of this course is to offer individual mentoring and the time taken will depend on you, with each unit taking from 2 to 4 weeks depending on the speed of the student.
Qualifications required – People wishing to take this course do not require any previous qualifications, they do however need to be able to identify themselves as writers with some experience. Those who have previously taken the Poetry Kit Poetry 1 course will find this a natural development.
Fee – The course fee is £110 (UK£)
