Dear list; I wonder whether the list could help me in developing some
thinking around approaches to design/art practice methodologies.
The relative(a little emphasis here)infancy of formal research in these
disciplines, has left a gap in what could be considered new areas
of research methodology in design. Some methodologies, as we know are
considered to be generic, but over recent years these disciplines (here I
mean sustainable design, crafts, the design activists, new illustration
areas, art and design cross-overs) have evolved into particular and
distinctive methodologies of their own. My question is really directed to
the connection of and to, strong discipline-specific strategies that have
emerged and been validated, those that join the methodological approaches
of the traditional (no offence intended) to those new methodologies that
seem to have a philosophical and contextual issue attached to them. Many
thanks pete
