We are pleased to announce that 'FILM AND MEDIA 2014: The Fourth Annual London Film and Media Conference' will take place under the auspices of Academic Conferences London on 26-28 June 2014 at the Institute of Education, University of London. The 2014 theme is 'Visions of Identity: Film & Global Media'.
The detailed Call for Papers is available on the conference site, together with the relevant electronic Proposal Form. Deadline: 31 March 2014. 'Early Bird' registration is now open until 30 April 2014. The site also carries news of the forthcoming publication of our first five Conference Readers as ISBN-registered e-books in October 2014. Over 500 Papers have been presented since our launch of FILM AND MEDIA in 2011, making this the UK's largest 'home-grown event in the field, with an international remit embracing some 40 nations. Our website illustrates the history of the conferences, and offers images and numerous appreciations from 2013.
FILM AND MEDIA 2014 is linked to our further event 'Visions of Identity: British Cinema and Television Now - The First Annual British Cinema and Television Conference', which is planned for a Central London venue Autumn 2014 (details to follow).

MeCCSA is the subject association for the field of media, communication and cultural studies in UK Higher Education. Membership is open to all who teach and research these subjects in HE institutions, via either institutional or individual membership. The field includes film and TV production, journalism, radio, photography, creative writing, publishing, interactive media and the web; and it includes higher education for media practice as well as for media studies.
