The Faculty of Arts at The University of Brighton is currently seeking two External Examiners for the FdA and BA(Hons) provision in Broadcast Media and Television Production which is delivered at the University’s Campus in Hastings. Applicants ideally need to have prior experience of being an External Examiner at another institution and we would particularly welcome candidates with experience of examining at both FdA and BA(Hons) level. The appointments will run from 2014 for 4 years.
The courses encompass the following subject areas: television drama/short film, television documentary, post production (including audio), radio production, television studio production/outside broadcast, script writing/programme development and digital media/convergence. The courses are assessed through a variety of methods including practical projects, essays, e-portfolios and presentations.

MeCCSA is the subject association for the field of media, communication and cultural studies in UK Higher Education. Membership is open to all who teach and research these subjects in HE institutions, via either institutional or individual membership. The field includes film and TV production, journalism, radio, photography, creative writing, publishing, interactive media and the web; and it includes higher education for media practice as well as for media studies.
