With apologies for cross-posting, we have an exciting opportunity within our Reader Services Department at the National Library of Scotland for a highly organised and motivated individual to join the team as a Maps Reading Room Manager.
Maps Reading Room Manager
Part tome job share 18.5 hours per week
(Wed am, Thurs and Friday plus Saturday mornings on a rotational basis.)
Salary £27,420 - £31,788 pro rata (Subject to change, pending a pay and grading review) and Civil Service pension arrangements.
The post holder will take responsibility for managing, delivering and contributing to the operational objectives for the Maps Reading Room. He/she will be responsible for managing, delivering and contributing to the development of effective and efficient operational procedures, ensuring compliance with the Library's governance. The Maps Reading Room Manager will work within the corporate framework and in collaboration with other colleagues to help deliver organisational goals.
Experience of the delivery of reading room services in a large public, research or academic environment is essential. He/she will also have knowledge of legislation affecting libraries and the delivery of services e.g. copyright, equality, data protection etc. It is desirable that he/she has a good knowledge of maps and geographic information.
