Pity it does not actually improve access. We're back in the 1990s. Nice one RCN - not!

RCN Publishing journals now available on Atypon's Literatum platform
New platform enhances access to key nursing content from the
Royal College of Nursing's publishing subsidiary
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
London, 6th September 2013: RCN Publishing announced today that their renowned nursing journals are now hosted on Atypon's Literatum platform, helping to improve access for all customers.
Publishing leading journals such as Nursing Standard, Nursing Management, Mental Health Practice, Nurse Researcher and Nursing Children and Young People, RCN Publishing (part of the Royal College of Nursing group) has long provided key information for professionals, researchers and students of nursing. Now customers will benefit from improved access with both HTML and PDF versions, article level DOIs, reference linking and much more. Institutional users in particular will also benefit from COUNTER-compliant usage statistics.
Speaking of the new platform, Tony O'Rourke, Commercial Director of RCN Publishing, said: "Access via this cutting edge platform will optimise use for personal and individual users alike. The new platform allows our content to be readily integrated into the daily workflows of researchers, nursing professionals and students at the same time as improving its discoverability and usage. With Literatum, not only can we offer the essential functionality that library administrators expect from e-journal platforms, but with features such as reference linking and fully searchable online archives, we can enhance the user experience to deliver the content they need in the format and style they demand and expect.
"The Royal College of Nursing is one of the world's largest organisations for nurses," continued O'Rourke, "and the journals available for our institutional customers have been selected specifically for their specialisation and relevance across the field of nursing. But their coverage also makes them applicable for those practising, researching or studying other fields of allied health and medicine. By moving to a new platform, we can serve our core users much more effectively and at the same time extend the reach of the content to users in nursing and healthcare teaching, practice and research establishments across the world."
