Are you an online Visitor or Resident? is the question posed by a new workshop, underpinned by the research of Dave White from the University of Oxford, which launches in London this November.
Attendees are challenged to take an experiential approach to analyse and understand modes of online engagement and the underlying attitudes which may influence them. They will develop real-world exercises to take away and try - with dedicated post-session, online support from Netskills.
Chris Young, Netskills Training Manager, is looking forward to the first run.
We have been working closely with Dave to create a transformative workshop, based around the Visitor and Resident continuum. Whilst it's an easy concept for most people to grasp, it also provides a very challenging way to view their own online engagement, he said.
The combination of a face-to-face workshop with two, integral, follow-up online sessions offers attendees a great opportunity to experiment and ultimately improve their practice.
Hands-on Augmented Reality
Another new workshop, Developing Augmented Reality for teaching and learning, is a practical introduction to pedagogically sound AR.
The workshop is offered in partnership with the national data centre, MIMAS, and run by staff from the award-winning SCARLET project.
Steve Boneham, Consultant Trainer, who has co-developed the workshop, described it as a result of an ideal collaboration.
Together with our expertise in training and their specialist technical knowledge of AR, we've been able to create a workshop that will certainly help people interested in using AR in education, he said.
In true Netskills style, this workshop takes a hands-on approach, giving attendees the chance to develop their own AR as well as considering its application in their own practice.
