The Department of Computer and Information Sciences at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, UK, seeks to appoint a Research Associate to join the mesch (Material Encounters with Digital Cultural Heritage, http://mesch-project.eu/) project funded by the European Union. meSch has the goal of designing, developing and deploying tools for the creation of tangible interactives that will connect the physical experience of museums and exhibitions with relevant digital cross-media information in novel ways. This will allow curators of cultural heritage institutions to create smart and adaptive exhibits for visitor interaction. The project involves 12 partners across Europe.
Your role in the project will be to work with our project partners, including heritage institutions, on the co-design of smart and adaptive exhibits, to coordinate project evaluation activities and conduct evaluations of these exhibits using a range of investigative techniques. You will be expected to have experience in a range of qualitative evaluation approaches.
Candidates will have a PhD in the area of Ethnography, Human-Computer Interaction or other relevant discipline with experience of conducting user-centred evaluations and qualitative evaluation methods together with the ability to meet deadlines and work to tight schedules.
