PSI are delighted to offer the following course in Network Meta Analysis (NMA) in November 2013:
The three speakers taking us through this course are Chrissie Fletcher (AMGEN), James Roger (LiveData) and Neil Hawkins (ICON).
This two day course introduces network meta-analysis, an extension of pairwise meta-analysis where estimates of comparative effectiveness of a set of treatments are obtained by fitting a statistical model to a 'connected' set of randomised trial comparisons.
The motivation for their usage will be explained and case studies will be presented. The case studies will include analyses of binary, multinomial, ordinal, and time to event data. They will also include consideration of fixed and random effects, covariable regression, and explicit modelling of consistency.
The statistical models being used and underlying assumptions will be explained. The models will be fitted both within a frequentist framework and a Bayesian framework, contrasting the two. The course will include SAS code for both approaches as well as equivalent WinBUGS code for the latter. A summary of the methodology that appears in the literature will be provided, including recommended best practices for the presentation and interpretation of network meta-analyses.
The course will make use of hands-on workshops, for which we request that delegates bring their laptops with SAS v9.2 (or above) installed. It will be assumed that delegates have a basic knowledge of SAS.
The course will be run over 2 days (20-21 November), at Theobalds Park, Cheshunt in Hertfordshire. Registration is now open and the early bird deadline to receive the discounted rate on the course is 18th October.
