Senior Research Fellow (0.8 full-time equivalent)
from £39,649 to £45,941 pro rata
An experienced researcher is required to support and mentor junior and/or less experienced researchers and academic staff through all aspects of the research grant preparation and bidding process. The successful candidate will be expected to work across all three research clusters in the School of Applied Social Science: ‘Care, Health and Wellbeing’, ‘Crime, Resistance and Security’ and ‘Culture, Identity and Society’, working alongside the Professors and research cluster leaders to enhance the quantity, quality and ultimately the success of research proposals. You will also be expected to develop research bids in your own areas of expertise and research specialisms. A good (1 or 2:1) degree in one of the Social Sciences is essential, as is a PhD or equivalent level of professional expertise, success in securing significant grant income for applied social science research, knowledge of relevant funding bodies and competence in both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
