Hi everyone
further to my last message about this consultation and recent discussions with other access professionals it is important that we get as many access related responses back tothem by the deadline of 10th October. There is a specific section on accessibility, but also there are other sections which impact on accessibility so to try and help I have extracted what i consider to be the questions that we need to respond to and put them in a Word document (attached).
If a discussion onthis list would help you then please use the question numbers to focus us to the main issues.
regards
marcus

The consultation deadline is 22 October 2013.
Background Information
The housing standards review<https://www.gov.uk/government/policies/providing-effective-building-regulations-so-that-new-and-altered-buildings-are-safe-accessible-and-efficient/supporting-pages/technical-housing-standards-review> was launched in October 2012 following the housing and construction Red Tape Challenge<http://www.redtapechallenge.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/themehome/housing-and-construction/>, which was introduced in spring 2012.
It was a fundamental review of the building regulations framework and voluntary housing standards which aimed to rationalise the large number of codes, standards, rules, regulations and guidance that add unnecessary cost and complexity to the house building process - while delivering quality, sustainability, safety and accessibility.
The review was undertaken by a wide range of cross sectoral stakeholder working groups and this consultation sets out their proposals on:
* accessibility
* space
* security
* water efficiency
* energy
* indoor environmental standards
* materials
* process and compliance
