Hi all
It would be useful to test some searches using the ti,ab,sh option first to look at how much additional material is pulled out.

Subject: HDAS Searching problem with Subject Headings
Apologies for cross posting
Dear All
We have recently done a literature search for a doctor and he came back to us to find out why we had missed some articles. We discovered we had missed a Mesh heading and our free text search of ti,ab, included a truncation of the term that would have pulled the Mesh heading but ti,ab doesn’t search subject headings.
In an ideal world we would all like to think of every Mesh heading but sometimes our brains or the HDAS software don’t make all the right links or guesses and a Mesh heading gets missed.
For this reason I think we should ask HDAS to make the default setting for searching ti,ab,sh
I am not fancying af (all fields) as default, as it pulls in a lot of stuff that may make the search over sensitive, whereas catching missed Mesh or other thesaurus terms should catch specific references.
What does everyone else think?
Best wishes
Sarah
