Dear All,
There are only ten days left left for CILIP members to submit your proxy vote for the 2013 AGM. Please make sure you get involved and don't leave it to the last minute!
http://www.cilip.org.uk//cilip/events/cilip-agm-2013
In addition to approval of the minutes from last year, there are 3 key resolutions which can be voted on:
Resolution 3: To agree the subscription rates for 2014 as proposed by the Honorary Treasurer. (which includes the adoption of free CILIP membership for LIS students)
Resolution 4: To agree a change of name for the organisation to “Information & Library Professionals UK”
Resolution 5: That “In view of his failures to enforce the 1964 Public Libraries and Museums Act, this Annual General Meeting of CILIP has no confidence in Ed Vaizey, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Culture, Communications and Creative Industries, and instructs Council to work with all other interested parties to protect library, information and knowledge services”
You can submit a proxy vote by completing the Proxy registration form which is available online at http://www.cilip.org.uk//cilip/events/cilip-agm-2013 .
This will then need to be scanned, faxed or sent to Jill Colbert ([log in to unmask]).
If for whatever reason you may have, you do not wish to use the Chair as your proxy vote (even though you can specify exactly how to vote) and do not know someone who will be attending, you do have other options:
Tom Roper will be attending and is happy to act as Proxy - email him direct on [log in to unmask] you would like him to act as your proxy.
Alternatively, Ian Stringer, Honorary Fellow of CILIP and ILIG Committee Member has kindly offered to represent proxy votes. This isn't restricted to ILIG members
Mr I M Stringer MCLIP HonFCLIP, CILIP Member Number 14150
Address:

If using Ian, please ensure you copy him in when submitted your form so he knows how you wish to vote - his email is [log in to unmask]
Ian and Tom will of course have their own views on the proposals so if you decided to let them act on your behalf (i.e. you don't specify how you would like to vote) please check you are happy with their views in advance!
Kind Regards
