Hello.
I am hoping I can get away with this post as it really isn't academic,
but we all need some down time every now and then.
I don't watch New Tricks on BBC - it does not interest me, it was my
mum who asked if I knew the actress Storme Toolis because she has a
disability!
I have often watched tv programmes and thought, is that person
disabled or are they 'spazing up'? Two culprits that spring to mind
are Glee and Waterloo Road. Waterloo Road for those who don't know is
a School-based drama.
As soon as I found out that Glee had just put an actor in a wheelchair
I deleted the show and refuse to watch it.
Unfortunately, I like Waterloo Road too much!
Now for two shows, both are BBC productions who do use disabled
actors/actresses:
Bad Education - a comedy on BBC 3
Silent Witness - a crime drama on BBC 1.
I've included a link to an article in the Mirror.
