Dear colleagues,
It would be interesting to hear others' views on the following two television advertisements. The first advertisement is for the French energy company EDF (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzRQOfVvVh4) which has been noted previously by Michael Davison (Concerto for the Left Hand: Disability and the Defamiliar Body, 2008. 5) as a good example of the scholar's theory of defamiliarization.
I feel it is a excellent advert that subverts the viewer's perception of impairment and challenges the societal barriers that exist. However I would love to hear anyone's views on this when compared to the second advertisement?
The second advertisement is very recent, it appeared on Irish television a few days ago for Guinness. I am still unsure how I feel about this advertisement and it would be great to hear others' feedback on the commercial ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwndLOKQTDs).
Kind regards,
