Dear List,
I read many contents related to monkey and mouse segmentation and normalization in SPM List, but still feel a bit confused about how to do them. If I'm going to use GM priori probability templates of mice and monkey to do normalization, I need to do segmentation first. Both SPM5 and SPM8 seem to use unified segmentation more for this on human fMRI data and give us a *_seg_sn.mat file for further normalization write. After reading relevant programs, I think that unified segmentation done by spm_preproc.m may estimate the warping from functional space to standard template space only on MNI, since it is for human brains. And SPM5 has a program "spm_segment.m" beside its spm_preproc.m. Would you please kindly have a look at my questions about the segment and normalization part ? And thanks very much in advance for reading!
1. In the user interface of segment, one choice is "average sized template" (the "defaults.preproc.regtype = subj" ). May I know if this choice for segment also based on MNI space...for usually, mouse and monkey templates have their only standard spaces...
2. If I want to use spm_segment.m in SPM5, how can I generate a *_seg_sn.mat file after the tissue segment?
3. For animal fMRI data, a template created with one's own anatomical images may also be a choice for normalization. Can this be done without segment?
Thank you very much!
Kind regards,
Lily
