If you just need to use 32 bit then you could look at using Neurodebian's VM:
http://neuro.debian.net/
(select Mac OS X as your platform). You would need to install the 'older' Debian 6 version as they too no longer offer a 32 bit in the latest and greatest release. This VM is for VirtualBox.
