RNIB has launched a free Travel Support Service to help blind and
partially sighted people make local journeys confidently.
The Travel Support Service pairs blind and partially sighted people with
volunteers who will help them to plan or make local journeys. Volunteers
work with customers to achieve a travel goal, for example planning a
specific journey, finding their way to the nearest shops or making a
journey by train.
Travel Support Volunteers can:
help you to plan a route
accompany you on a route
go on a bus or train journey with you.
The service is currently available in Birmingham, Cardiff, Liverpool and
Loughborough.
You can find out more about the Travel Support Service by visiting
