2. Visit to National Institute for Medical Research Library, Tuesday 19th November 2013, 2-4pm
The library at NIMR is a specialist biomedical research library. It was originally established in 1920 at Hampstead, it moved to Mill Hill in 1950. The library space was purpose built and over the years has been modified to suit our users needs, yet retains much of its original Art Deco features. The most recent refurbishment took place during 2012. As a research collection we are strong in journals (both e-journals and archival print). The Library also maintains the Institute's archive. The visit includes a tour of the library, a viewing of special collection and archive material and a quick talk about the Institute and the Library. Tea/coffee will be provided.
