We have a lot of DTI calculations and need more processing power than the regular Mac can provide. The Xeon Phi looks interesting and the prices are dropping.
Programming for it must be a lot easier than GPU as it is x86.
The one i am looking at is the 3120A that has 57 cores at 1,1GHz. One problem could be that it only has 6GB of RAM, but a large main memory on the machine might help. As no mac supports PCI-E at the moment it would be a CentOS machine.
Anyone with experience with the Xeon Phi?
