Dear all
So Abdullah Mia and I have a message to spread about the next London Comm Psych meeting on Thurs 29th August 6-8.30pm. We're excited about this session...
Abdullah writes...
We've had some great talks in the London network from a range of people who share our values over the past few meetings, and some of us were thinking it would be a good time for us as a network to also look to our strengths as a group, learn more about our practices and think about what we are currently doing and how that can fit with our values of Community Psychology.
We hope you share these thoughts and are able to attend the next meeting focussing on "Ideals, Intentions and Utility: are holding Community Psych values enough?"
I'll be co-facilitating the meeting, but in order for it to be co-facilitation I'm going to need a co-facilitators! I'd really appreciate it if you could email me ([log in to unmask]) individually if you'd like to help me out with this. My hopes are that this session could really draw on applying the CommPsy principles we value to our own group and also our practice away from the group.
And I want to add...
Please do get in touch with Abdullah if you can help facilitate this session. There are no 'experts' in this network - just members who might facilitate, so all are welcome to support these sessions. This session gets to the heart of some really important issues - how do we practice Comm Psych as individuals, as a group and in the real world settings we may all be working within.
The exact venue is TBC because University College London is not yet booking rooms for the next term. So there will be another message about the venue to come - but it will be at UCL and you can always call me on the day on phone number: 0773 321 3797.
Please spread this to your colleagues, friends, students and supervisors. All welcome!
Best wishes
Sally (London Comm Psych Network Co-ordinator) and Abdullah (London Comm Psych Network member)
