Greetings,
Can anybody please provide me with a reference for who created the
Wiccan rede? I came across this recently and am trying to verify it.
"The Wiccan rede was created by Doreene Valiente, who announced it in a
speech at the dinner of the Pentagram magazine in London on the 3rd of
October 1964."
Thanks in advance.

I had an exchange with him only the day before he died; all I know was that he was in Australia in an undisclosed location. I don't know whether computer and cell phone technology could be used to identify the location, but that's a problem for the authorities.

Yes, perhaps Dave should have been a bit clearer about that...about where his mortal remains would actually be ending up. Anyway, I suppose we'll have to wait for news. I am very much reminded about the documentary where Terry Pratchett went and looked at assisted dying facilities in, was it Sweden? As he was considering doing that himself, not that Dave did that - well, as far as we know.

As previously stated, he chose to end his life instead of living through the pain and suffering of medical treatments for cancer. I am writing this email, however, because other than receiving the email from Dave, I have received no other confirmation that he has, indeed, passed on from this world. This is not to say he hasn't. However, I have known enough people who have either decided to end their lives and, at the last minute, change their minds, or worse, when they attempt to end their lives, something happens differently than planned and they do not die but continue living, sometimes in the hospital under the kinds of conditions Dave wished to avoid.

I sincerely hope that Dave is at peace and that his suffering in this life has ended. However, all I have is that Dave intended to end his life and that the email was set to be sent at a time after he would have likely succeeded. I have been doing Google searches and have found nothing that indicate a body has been found. But I am in the US and he would have ended his life in Australia or New Zealand (he was vague about his whereabouts). If anyone has any further information regarding his body, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your consideration.
