The MRC Epidemiology Unit undertakes research on the causes and prevention of diabetes and obesity, including evaluating the effects of environmental and policy interventions on population physical activity and understanding related patterns and mechanisms of behaviour change. We are now seeking two postdoctoral researchers to join our Physical Activity and Public Health research group: one with expertise in epidemiology or a quantitative social science, and one with expertise in qualitative research methods. The successful applicants are likely to have (or shortly to be about to obtain) a PhD in a relevant topic and experience in the analysis of epidemiological, behavioural or social science data. Experience of more advanced statistical methods for the longitudinal analysis of cohort (panel) data (for the first post) or of a variety of qualitative research methods and mixed methods research (for the second post) would be a distinct advantage. Both posts are for a fixed term of three years. For further information and to apply, please visit www.jobs.cam.ac.uk/job/1881 (for the first post) or www.jobs.cam.ac.uk/job/1882 (for the second post). The closing date is 12 September 2013.
