2. Fawkner Park
'See that damp hollow
in the grass?' (she pointed)
'Keep your dog well away
from it, or he'll wallow
and come home smelly
as mine did recently.
That's where the foxes -
they live in that drain there -
come out to pee.'
We steered clear.
3. Ruffey Lake Park
Morning-sun-rays aslant
the lake-side - someone's
golden retrievers
from splashing in the wetness
rising into brightness
sopping
seeking human company,
closing in, shaking their wet,
their coats, themselves
thoroughly, full-length
spraying widely.
Sun-rays glinting
glistening, humans
flinching in the spraying.
At last! some park snapping
without peeing or pooing,
but as my old teacher would object:
far too many -ing words, Max.
