POLCON4 FINAL CALL FOR PAPERS: DEADLINE 30TH JULY 2013
POLCON4 will discuss policing in the context of reform and the introduction of the College of Policing in the United Kingdom. The conference explores the potential for higher education and the police service to establish sustainable partnerships, professionalisation, the identification of research priorities, professional curriculum development, research informed teaching and evidence-based policing in the context of rapid reform in the police service and society more widely. Keynote speakers will present papers that will have relevance to shaping the policing landscape in learning and development and the prospect of supporting a professional police service. This event is the annual conference of the Higher Education Forum for Learning & Development in Policing. The conference theme reflects developments in the United Kingdom with emerging professionalisation and rapid police reform during austerity. The conference will take place in the historical city of Canterbury on Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th September.
