Good Morning
Would anyone be willing to share a policy for me to look at regarding using the alcometer please as we are thinking of introducing this in the Business. Thank you.

Hi Jaqui
I use a Lion 500p Alcometer which is relatively pricey, I think around £500 but very accurate, and requires calibrating every 6 months. I have used cheaper ones but I prefer this one. It comes with a printer which is a good idea as it says on it when calibrated last, date and time of test and the test result.

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] alcometer
good evening
I have been working with a company who wants to introduce a drug/alcohol screening programme, in true OH style....I am keeping well out of it but have been asked for advice in relation to purchase of kit for managers to do tests.
I have found a company who provide drug pots with pregnancy test type results...two lines negative- one line- not negative! which managers seem happy with. Then full coc for non negative results.
In the past I have used a drager alcometer with printer which a quick search comes in the other side of £1K.
My question is not pertaining to policy etc...it is " does anyone use any other alcometers- several are available less than £100.
What should I be advising them to look for in an alcometer -do they need a printer?
do they need calibrating- if so which companies do this?"
And why does one question always leads to another???
Jacqui
