A/C is often cited as a cause of dry sinuses and whenever sinuses get dry they are vulnerable to irritation and infection. This is one of the reasons why medication to dry out sinuses for people with colds etc can result in a bacterial overlay infection because the resilience of the mucosa comes from the moist surface and so are best avoided.
Pot plants regularly watered or bowls of water, small humidifiers, and regular drinks of water are usually all that is required.

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] air conditioning
Hi
Does anyone have any guidance on air conditioning units and sinusitis? I have seen a lady who is in an open plan office and both she and her GP believe the a/c unit is aggravating her sinuses. The business do the standard routine maintenance and checks.
Is there any other advice or suggestions?
Thanks
Anna
