*Lectureship in Sociology, University of York, UK*
The Department of Sociology at the University of York, UK wishes to appoint
a Lecturer in Sociology to join our vibrant, research-intensive department.
You will be expected to conduct and publish original research at the
highest international standard; to apply for research funding; to recruit
and supervise research students; to assist in the administration of the
Department, to teach on our Undergraduate and taught Masters programmes;
and to take an active role in the lively research culture of the Department.
The post is open as to sub-field but we are particularly interested in
applicants whose interests fall within the four broad research clusters of
the Department: culture and cultural practice; gender, sexuality and
inequality; language and social interaction; and science, health and
technology. We especially encourage applicants with methodological
expertise (especially those whose research involves large-scale
quantitative methods) to apply. You should have a PhD in Sociology, or a
closely related discipline.
