Dear all,
 
Firstly, we would like to formally introduce the new members of the MeCCSA Postgraduate Network (PGN) committee:
 
Chair: Rachel Tavernor, University of Sussex
Secretary: Charlotte Barlow, University of Liverpool
Communications: Lori Gilbert, University of East Anglia
Journal Editor: Samuel Ward, University of Nottingham
Outreach: Emma Duester, Goldsmiths University
Training: Saeed Hussain, Birmingham City University
 
The aim of the PGN is to bring together postgraduate students in media, communication and cultural studies from a variety of institutions and cultural backgrounds to form research and learning networks and to provide peer support. As a committee, this year we aim strengthen this network of support and to continue to expand upon the strong work of our predecessors.
 
Secondly, we would like to say a huge thank you to the UEA committee for organising such a wonderful conference. We have been given excellent feedback from a number of attendees that demonstrates the value of such events. We are keen to make next year’s conference at the University of Leeds just as, if not, more of a success, so any feedback or recommendations for the future would be much appreciated. 
 
Thirdly, as a committee, there are a number of issues that we are eager to work on during the next academic year. We aim to improve the level of contact with existing PGN members and we intend to continue to encourage potential new members to join. We are looking to appoint a PGN rep at each of the MeCCSA affiliated institutions. This role would involve being a point of contact for members within their institution and region. We hope PGN reps would also support the organisation of regional workshops/ seminars that will be coordinated by our network throughout the year.
