Alun -
Surely your facilities manager will have some kind of access platform for cleaning etc? A further key question would be - how high is it, and how far back can one get to try to photograph from ground level? Are there any alternative viewpoints at the same, higher level?

Hi Mike,
I too remember that project, but from memory it was photographing stained glass windows. I can't remember what if any lighting was used on the inside, but it is possible that the lighting might not be far enough apart for use with works of art. But the camera platform would be most suitable.
I've seen camera platforms for estate agents at the now defunct Focus on Imaging trade show at the NEC, I guess you would need three, one for camera, two for lighting.
Lindsay is now indeed at UCL.
I'm not keen on helicopters near works of art and inside heritage buildings, but the stability for low ISO/ASA capture would rule it out in my opinion.
Tony
