The role:
We are looking to recruit a full time Collection Development Information Assistant to join the Collection Development Team, working in the RCN's exciting new Library and Heritage Centre. In this role you will assist with the cataloguing of electronic and print resources, the ordering and receipt of acquisitions including books and journals, undertake stock maintenance and checking as well as assisting with the collection and preparation of journals for binding.
You will also assist with the provision of customer service on a roving model supporting customers with their enquiries within the Library & Heritage Centre and remotely using telephone, email, webchat etc.
The person:
With relevant customer service experience ideally gained from a library environment, you will have excellent communication and I.T. skills. As a member of the Collection Development Team, you will be able to demonstrate good team working and collection care skills. Experience of working with rare books and special collections would be an advantage.
Regular Saturday and evening work (until 7pm) will be required.
