The Health Services Research team forms part of the Knowledge and Information Unit and provides research and evaluation support across all the units and teams of Healthcare Improvement Scotland.
We are seeking to appoint to this team a temporary Health Services Researcher who has practical experience of designing and implementing project/programme evaluations. The postholder may also be required to provide support to the organisation by undertaking literature reviews of published research on the range of healthcare interventions and models of service, and providing advice and support on the use of primary research methods e.g. surveys and qualitative approaches.
The health services research team also develops and provides training in a range of research and evaluation methods, contributes to the delivery of the organisational research strategy and to the NHS Scotland knowledge management strategy ‘Knowledge into Action’.
This temporary position will focus specifically on the development of an evaluation framework for the Person Centred Care Collaborative and will work closely with staff in other units and teams, particularly those in the Implementation and Improvement Support Unit, to build effective and sustainable relationships with a range of stakeholders including other special health boards and the Scottish Government.
The position requires an experienced, clear thinking and methodical researcher with a broad range of research skills, and excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. In addition to a numerate or biomedical discipline degree, the post holder will be expected to have a postgraduate degree in a relevant subject and/or have extensive health services research experience including the design and implementation of evaluation projects.
